Jose Sanchez

The benefits of Jose Joaquin Sanchez’s rich professional experience and abilities over a wide range of design platforms extend to nearly every aspect of our business. In addition to his role as a project manager and design developer, he specializes in producing renderings, animation, and 3D VR walk-throughs for our clients using Enscape, Lumion, Premiere Pro, and Oculus Rift.

Jose is essential to our construction administration process–managing costs, tracking productivity, and ensuring project milestones are met through Procore management software. He has successfully headed some of our most challenging renovation projects to date, overseeing work on six historic stations for the Austin Fire Department, the San Jose Catholic Church, Sunset Valley Elementary, and Garza High School. Most recently, his skills have been put to use combatting the invasive zebra mussel on remediation projects for the Brazos River Authority, Ullrich Water Treatment Plant, and Round Rock Water Chemical Feed System.

Jose received his Master of Science in Architecture, Master of Architecture, and Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Texas Tech University where he was a Helen D. Jones Architectural Graduate Fellow and member of the Tau Sigma Delta Honor Society in Architecture. His commitment to his community and the next generation of architects can be seen in his work with the Austin Barkitecture team– designing doghouses for auction to benefit Austin Pets Alive–and his years mentoring high school students in the Austin area at the Curtis W. Clerkley Jr. Architecture Academy.

In his free time, Jose pursues art, furniture design & restoration, photography, and digital design & fabrication. He enjoys spending time with his nephew, growing succulents, bouldering, and exploring the outdoors with his dog Gandalf.

 

Jose was a teaching and lab assistant at Texas Tech University before accepting a position with MBA Architects. There he honed his design development and construction document skills on projects for industrial and utility clients across Texas, and hospitality clients including Diamond Resorts International, Marriot, and G6 Hospitality, nationally.
